Randika is a Solutions Architect at StarTree. StarTree was founded by the original developers of Apache Pinot and provides a fully managed platform for Apache Pinot. Apache Pinot is a realtime distributed OLAP designed for low-latency, high throughput query execution.
Before he joined StarTree, Randika worked as a Solutions Architect at WSO2. WSO2 is the world’s #1 open-source integration vendor, helping digitally driven organizations become integration agile. The company’s hybrid platform for developing, reusing, running, and managing integrations prevents lock-in through open-source software that runs on-premises or in the cloud. At WSO2, Randika lead the Solutions Architecture and Sales effort in the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) sub-region. He managed to grow the Indian sub-region to 25 + customers from less than 5 during his period.
Randika has won the “Fritz Kunz Memorial Trophy” award for the most outstanding student in 2012 at the annual prize-giving of Ananda College, Colombo. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.
He is a strong believer of open source world of software development, and has successfully completed the Google Summer of Code Program in 2016 with Eclipse Foundation, and has contributed to a number of open source projects since then. Randika spends his leisure time following sports and watching TV series.
