I'm Randy Navagamuwa
Randy currently serves as a Solutions Engineer at
Kanopi,
a full stack insurtech platform that helps insurers, brokers, and digital partners
launch and manage embedded insurance products through real time analytics and seamless
API integration.
In this role, he designs and architects insurtech solutions for large insurers, brokers,
and partners, integrating the Kanopi platform with their existing infrastructure.
He leads post-sales technical engagement, supports engineering and product teams with
architectural guidance, and helps customers reduce time to market through optimized
solution design.
Prior to joining Kanopi, Randy worked as a Solutions Architect at
StarTree, a company founded by the
original developers of Apache Pinot.
StarTree delivers a fully managed platform for real time analytics built on Apache Pinot,
empowering organizations to derive insights from both real time and historical data.
Earlier in his career, he held the position of Solutions Architect at
WSO2, the world's leading open-source
integration vendor,
where he led Solutions Architecture and Sales initiatives in the South Asian Association
for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) region.
Under his leadership, the Indian sub-region experienced significant growth, expanding
the customer base from fewer than 5 to more than 25 organizations.
Before his role at WSO2, Randy served as a Senior Software Engineer at
AdroitLogic Lanka (Pvt) Ltd,
where he led development for the AdroitLogic AS2 Gateway and managed multiple
enterprise customer projects.
In 2012, Randy earned the distinguished Fritz Kunz Memorial Trophy at
Ananda
College, Colombo,
awarded to the most outstanding student of the year. He later graduated with a
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and Engineering
from the University of Moratuwa, Sri
Lanka.
A passionate advocate for open-source software, Randy completed the
Google
Summer of Code Program (2016)
with the Eclipse Foundation and has contributed to multiple open-source projects since.
In his leisure time, he enjoys following sports and watching TV series.

As a pivotal member of StarTree Inc., a company founded by the original
developers of Apache Pinot, I lead the Solutions Architecture team in the
India region. StarTree is dedicated to delivering a fully managed platform
for Apache Pinot, a real-time analytical database.
Responsibilities
- Design solutions and architecture for real-time analytical use cases with Apache Pinot where low latency, high concurrency and data freshness are necessary..
- Guiding customers to optimize real-time analytical queries to meet the expected service level agreements.

The quality of the code and the performance of the platform led to the deployment of the UltraESB at top-tier organizations the world over, including at Walmart (6M TPS with 200 instances), Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX), Kuoni/HotelBeds (>335 instances), StageCoach and GeoSwift etc. AdroitLogic was bootstrapped in 2010 and has its offices in Sri Lanka.
